How do you
get into
your boat?
Every boater has a method. Some are safer than others. Take 2 minutes to think about yours.
Keep reading ↓You've probably never
questioned how you
board your boat.
You've just done it the same way for years. Doesn't mean it's the easiest way, or the best way.
Think about your last launch.
How did you actually get on board?
You've probably done at least one of these.
Most boaters board their boat one of three ways. Be honest with yourself.
Climb the winch post
It's right there, so you climb it. Doesn't matter that it was never made for it. You just make it work, every time.
Walk the drawbar
Narrow, and never quite wide enough for your foot. One hand on the boat, hoping for the best. We've all done it. Nobody enjoys it.
Step or jump from the trailer
The quick way. Reach, stretch, twist, and hope you land it right. It works, but it's never smooth and it never feels natural.
Which one is yours?
It's not "she'll be right."
Boat ramps are wet, hot, and rushed. Other people are watching. You're trying to get the boat off and get on with the day.
That's the moment you're stretching, twisting, and hoping it goes smooth. Every single time.
Most boaters just accept it. Doesn't mean they should.

Boarding should feel easy.
Four simple rules that make it that way.
Three points of contact
Two feet and a hand, or two hands and a foot. Always.
Don't rush
The ramp will wait. Other boaters will wait. Mistakes happen when you hurry.
Face the steps
Climb up and down like a ladder, not like stairs.
Solid footing first
Plant your weight before you shift it. Every time.
None of these rules work
if you're climbing a winch post.
This is why
we built STEPZ.
We ran a marine dealership for years, and we spent a lot of it making one-off boarding ladders. Different boat, different trailer, same problem every time.
Eventually it clicked. Why not make one system that fits nearly everything, with options for however you board.

One system. However you board.
STEPZ is a modular ladder system that mounts directly to your trailer drawbar. The base is galvanised steel with 316 stainless hardware.
It fits 99% of trailers and installs at home with basic tools.
- Fits 75mm and 100mm drawbars
- Bolts on, no welding
- Modular, add a rail or 4th step anytime
- Installs at home with basic tools
- 5-year structural warranty
Same ramp. Different setup.

Without STEPZ
- Climbing the winch post
- Balancing on the drawbar
- Awkward every time

With STEPZ
- Proper steps, every time
- Solid footing, easy on and off
- Smooth and natural
So, what's your method?
You've spent the last two minutes thinking about how you board. If the answer is "climb and hope," there's a better way. Have a look.
